On July 7, 2018 at UFC 226 Stipe Miocic will defend his title belt, for the fourth time, against Daniel Cormier.
Stipe Miocic is the current UFC Heavyweight Champion and a mixed martial artist who expertly trained in both wrestling and boxing. Stipe Miocic took the Heavyweight title belt at UFC 198 back in May 2016 where Miocic faced Fabricio Werdum and won in the first round by a knockout punch. On September 10, 2016, Stipe Miocic defended his Heavyweight Title Belt against Alistair Overeem at UFC 203. During the first round, he was knocked down but recovered quickly and ended up winning the entire fight by TKO. Since then, Miocic has fought against Junior dos Santos and Francis Ngannou and has remained victorious.
Up against Stipe Miocic is Daniel Cormier.
Cormier is an Olympian turned UFC Champion who is expertly trained in Wrestling as well as Boxing. The current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion boasts an impressive record of a total of 20 wins, 9 by TKO, 4 by submission, and 7 by decision. Cormier is well known for his incredible record, as well as his feud with former UFC Champion, Jon Jones. After the results in the match-up against Jon Jones at UFC 214 were overturned, Cormier resumed his rightful place as the UFC’s Light Heavyweight Champion, and he is now aiming his sights on being the UFC’s Heavyweight Champion.
