Attention UFC Fans – “The world’s most dominant woman” returns to the octagon on August 1st at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  Current UFC Bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey (11-0-0) looks to defend her UFC Women’s Bantamweight title when she takes on Brazilian challenger Bethe Correia (9-0-0).  Arguably the most dominant champion in UFC history, the unbeaten Rousey comes off of five successful defenses of her title.  Her last three defenses over Sara McMann, Alexis Davis and Cat Zingano have combined for only 96 seconds.

Needless to say, the two contenders have had their differences.  Correia, following her victory over Rousey’s teammate Jessamyn Duke at UFC 172, held up four fingers symbolizing Rousey’s “Four Horsemen Crew,” and put one finger down.  Following a second victory over Rousey’s teammate Shayna Baszler at UFC 177, a second finger dropped. “I think for her, it became personal,” Correia said. “I used my weapons. I would be stupid if I didn’t throw in her face that I was beating her friends.  I wanted the challenge and wanted to fight in Brazil. Now I just have to defeat her.”

Rousey is confident she will produce a ‘devastatingly embarrassing’ punishment upon Correia despite the intimidation factor about fighting in front of Correia’s Brazilian home crowd in Rio de Janeiro. “I’m not afraid to let go of the hometown advantage. She’s much more than a hometown advantage away from beating me.” I want her to leave that arena embarrassed, and the best way to do it is to come here and beat her in her own backyard.”

UFC 190 co-headliner features light heavyweight bout between Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Rogerio “Minotouro” Nogueira.  The fight serves as an epic re-match of one of the greatest fights in PRIDE history ten years ago when Rua won via decision.
