Alexander Gustafsson is a professional mixed martial artist who is expertly trained in boxing, kickboxing, shootfighting, and submission grappling. Gustafsson began boxing when he was just 10 years old, and began earning titles and winning championships at 16. Alexander Gustafsson made his UFC debut back in November 2009 against Hamman where he won by TKO within the first round. Since then, Gustafsson has climbed his way to the top and is now recognized as the #2 fighter in official UFC light heavyweight rankings.
In 2013, Gustafsson faced Jon Jones for the first time. Their match-up lasted 5 rounds and won them the title of “Fight of the Night”. While Gustafsson lost this match via unanimous decision, Jones was quoted saying that “Gustafsson had given him the hardest fight of his career”.
Jon Jones is a mixed martial artist and two-time UFC Lightweight Champion. While Jones is regarded as one of the greatest professional fighters of all-time, his career has been tarnished with numerous suspensions and he has been stripped of the UFC title 3 times. Most recently, Jones faced longtime rival, Daniel Cormier at UFC 214. Jones won this match by TKO but later was stripped of his title after he was found positive for using Turinabol, a performance-enhancing steroid. After a year and a half away from the limelight of the UFC, Jones has returned to reclaim his UFC Light Heavyweight Title Fight.
