Amanda Nunes is the current UFC Bantamweight Champion. She is a mixed martial artist with a Black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and began boxing at the age of 16, and made her MMA debut back in 2008 at only 20 years old. Nunes has fought a total of 19 times, and won 15 – 10 by TKO, 3 by submission, and 2 by decision. Her impressive record includes wins against formidable opponents such as Miesha Tate, Sara Mcmann, and Ronda Rousey. Back in 2011 when Nunes was fighting in Strikeforce, she showcased her skill and strength by holding a 5 fight winning streak, and by knocking Julia Budd (a Canadian UFC Fighter) out in under 15 seconds. Again, in 2015-2016 Nunes held another winning streak and her final battle with Miesha Tate on July 9, 2016 earned her the Women’s Bantamweight Belt. She is currently again on a 6 fight winning streak and is aiming to keep the Women’s Bantamweight Belt.
Raquel Pennington is a mixed martial artist who began her UFC career back in 2013 as a cast member on The Ultimate Fighter: Team Rousey vs. Team Tate. It was during this time that Pennington made a name for herself as she won Fight of The Season honors for her matchup against Jessamyn Duke. Pennington made her Octagon ring debut on November 30, 2013 in The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale. She won by unanimous decision. Since then Pennington has fough and won against formidable opponents such as Jéssica Andrade, Bethe Correia, Elizabeth Phillips, and Miesha Tate. She is currently on a 4 win streak and is setting her sights on becoming the UFCs Bantamweight Champion.
