UFC 207: Amanda Nunes Vs. Ronda Rousey


In just a few short weeks, Ronda Rousey will be returning to the octagon, against Amanda Nunes, in an effort to reclaim her title as the Women’s Bantamweight Champion.

Amanda Nunes is a mixed martial artist with a Black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. She began boxing at the age of 16, and made her MMA debut back in 2008 at only 20 years old. Nunes has fought a total of 17 times, and won 13 – 9 by TKO,  3 by submission, and 1 by decision. Back in 2011 when Nunes was fighting in Strikeforce, she showcased her skill and strength by holding a 5 fight winning streak, and by knocking Julia Budd (a Canadian UFC Fighter) out in under 15 seconds. Again, in 2015-2016 Nunes held another winning streak and her final battle with Miesha Tate on July 9, 2016 earned her the Women’s Bantamweight Belt.

Ronda Rousey is a mixed martial artist who also has a 4th degree black belt in Judo. Rousey began training in Judo at only 11 years ago, and at 17 she qualified for the Olympics and became the youngest person to have ever competed in the Olympics. Also in 2004, Rousey competed in the World Junior Judo Championships in Budapest, Hungary and won a gold medal.  Rousey has fought 13 times, and won 12 of her battles. She has held the UFC  Women’s Bantamweight Belt for nearly her entire UFC career, only losing it to Holly Holm at UFC 193.
