An annual rugby union competition, formerly known as the Tri Nations, is a series held between New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, and Argentina as the newest addition. Games are played in a double round-robin format and teams play each other twice, for a total of twelve matches during the competition. The tournament typically begins in August and ends in October. Super 15
Super Rugby is a rugby union tournament involving 15 provincial teams from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. The Blues, Brumbies, Bulls, Cheetahs, Chiefs, Crusaders, Highlanders, Hurricanes, Lions, Melbourne Rebels, Reds, Sharks, Stormers, Waratahs, and Western Force compete in a conference format over the course of the season. The Currie Cup is a South African provincial championship and is run by the South African Rugby Football Union. The top four teams with the most points will play against each other in a semifinal. Formerly known as the Air New Zealand Cup, this rugby competition features 14 teams from New Zealand. Standings are determined with a complicated system of points earned, performance in previous tournaments, and repechage games. Sportsnet World typically broadcasts two live matches a week.
EDF Energy Cup
The EDF Energy Cup is commonly known as the Anglo-Welsh Cup and is the English rugby union knockout cup competition, allowing entrants from all members of the Rugby Football Union. The sixteen clubs are placed in four pools each with three English clubs and one Welsh club.
